Sorry its been so long since I popped on but yes it does make a huge difference. It just seems to process the signal more richly and with more definition....I know that was a derr comment.... Here's the top things I like about the POD 500 1) Online software for easy manipulation of models and presets 2) Ability to stereo channel separate effects (which gives me the ability to have a distorted and acoustic sound runnin simultaneously...>VERY COOL FOR SOLOS< 3) Have 4 presets at my feet, each of which can be altered in many different ways giving me such a diversity in sound at easy reach....(And I can have like 120 of those its unbelievable) 4) Finally, the biggest one for me, it is so easy to level out the distortions with the clean signal. In the past, the disortions are ALWAYS louder than the base signal. Now I can lower the volume of the distortion lines through the built in mixer setting so that my clean channel and my distorted channel hold the same output level. This has been huge with my live sound problems. No more volume wars! YAY!
Seriously though, the sound definition is unmatched and caused me to say sayonara to my BOSS ME 50, my Ibanez Lo Fi and my Digitek RP200 (which isn't top of the line but worked great with my fiddle)
